What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We collect your name and/or email address when you use one of the following methods:
- Joining our email list
- Entering a contest, we are running
- Participating in a survey
- Sending us an email
These methods allow us to communicate with you directly via email.
Our website uses the WordPress platform, but WordPress does not collect any personal data about visitors except Registered Users. Our site does not setup external Registered users for visitors.
We have turned off the Comments feature in WordPress.
We do not use Contact Forms so visit our Contact section for our phone number, email and social media addresses.
How can I “take back” the information you collected from me?
Use the Unsubscribe button at the bottom of every email campaign we send out to removed from our email campaign list.
More Specific Information, if you haven’t fallen asleep yet:
Our website has not enabled the Comments or Registered Users features.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
We use Google Analytics because it provides information on our website traffic; refer to the appropriate Google Analytics documentation to access information for the specific type of data it collects.
In order to record page views via WordPress.com Stats (which must be enabled for page view tracking here to work) with additional loads, the following information is used: IP address, WordPress.com user ID (if logged in), WordPress.com username (if logged in), user agent, visiting URL, referring URL, timestamp of event, browser language, country code.
Page views will be tracked with each additional load (i.e., when you scroll down to the bottom of the page and a new set of posts loads automatically). We have enabled Google Analytics so a page view event will also be sent to the appropriate Google Analytics account with each additional load.
A cookie (
akm_mobile) is stored for 3.5 days to remember whether or not a visitor of the site wishes to view its mobile version. Learn more about this cookie.
In order to check login activity and potentially block fraudulent attempts, the following information is used: attempting user’s IP address, attempting user’s email address/username (i.e., according to the value they were trying to use during the login process), and all IP-related HTTP headers attached to the attempting user.
Failed login attempts (these include IP address and user agent) will create a cookie (
jpp_math_pass). This cookie creates a reference so the site knows if and when a user has successfully completed a math captcha to prove that they’re a real human. Learn more about this cookie.
Data Synced (?): Failed login attempts, which contain the user’s IP address, attempted username or email address, and user agent information.
The website uses any of the visitor-chosen search filters and query data because a search request needs this data to process.
We do not use or share data with others.
