We have turned off the Comments feature in WordPress.

More Specific Information, if you haven’t fallen asleep yet:

Our site uses cookies.  In general, we use cookies to help the user experience, retain user preferences, store information for things like shopping carts, and provide anonymized tracking data to third-party applications like Google Analytics. As a rule, cookies will make your browsing experience better. However, you may prefer to disable cookies on this site and others. The most effective way to do this is to disable cookies in your browser. We suggest consulting the Help section of your browser or taking a look at the About Cookies website which offers guidance for all modern browsers.

Our website has not enabled the Comments or Registered Users features.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content.  These websites may track your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and logged in to that website.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics because it provides information on our website traffic; refer to the appropriate Google Analytics documentation to access information for the specific type of data it collects.

Infinite Scroll

In order to record page views via Stats (which must be enabled for page view tracking here to work) with additional loads, the following information is used: IP address, user ID (if logged in), username (if logged in), user agent, visiting URL, referring URL, timestamp of event, browser language, country code.

Website page views are tracked with each additional load (i.e., when you scroll down to the bottom of the page and a new set of posts loads automatically).   We have enabled Google Analytics, so a page view event will also be sent to the appropriate Google Analytics account with each additional load.

Mobile Theme

A cookie (akm_mobile) is stored for 3.5 days to remember whether or not a visitor of the site wishes to view its mobile version. Learn more about this cookie.

To check login activity and potentially block fraudulent attempts, our website uses:

  • Attempting user’s IP address and email address/username (i.e., according to the value they were trying to use during the login process)
  • All IP-related HTTP headers attached to the attempting user.

Failed login attempts (these include IP address and user agent) will create a cookie (jpp_math_pass).  This cookie creates a reference, so the site knows if and when a user has successfully completed a math captcha to prove that they’re a real human. Learn more about this cookie.

Data Synced (?): Failed login attempts, which contain the user’s IP address, attempted username or email address, and user agent information.

The website uses any of the visitor-chosen search filters and query data because a search request needs this data to process.

We do not use or share data with others.

We do use services from Google’s API, so Google’s privacy policy is here.
